FortisBC HVAC Controls Rebate

FortisBC is offering rebates when installing controls on your HVAC systems to help you run your building more efficiently and reduce maintenance costs.

Available Rebates

Control type Rebate Requirements
Connected thermostats $40 per unit

*Includes Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland and Nelson Hydro.
Domestic hot water recirculation controls $1,500 per unit
  • The domestic hot water system’s energy source must be supplied by FortisBC.*
  • The controls must be listed on the qualified product list.

*Includes Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland and Nelson Hydro.
Hydronic additives* $200 per gallon
  • The building’s primary heating system must be hydronic.*
  • The additives must be listed on the qualified product list.

*Only available to natural gas customers.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. You must be a FortisBC natural gas customer under any rate class except Rate 1 and/or a commercial or industrial FortisBC electricity customer or municipal electricity customer of Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland or Nelson Hydro.
  2. You must be a long-term leaseholder of an existing commercial or industrial building, or a builder/developer or owner of a new commercial or industrial construction project.
  3. You must submit an application and supporting documentation no later than 365 days after the purchase date of the product(s) (as shown on the paid invoice) or installation date, whichever is first.
  4. Review all the terms and conditions.

How to Apply

  1. Purchase and install qualifying equipment/products.
  2. Complete in full the HVAC controls rebate application and include the following information:
    • copies of the paid invoice indicating the purchase date, make and model number of the product/equipment purchased
    • your email
    • scanned or PDF copies of all paid receipts
  3. Email your completed application along with supporting documents to commercialrebates@fortisbc.com within 365 days of the purchase date (as shown on the paid invoice) or installation date (as shown on the application form), whichever is first.

  1. You must submit an application and supporting documentation no later than 365 days after the purchase date of the product(s) (as shown on the paid invoice) or installation date, whichever is first.
