By using the CleanBC Better Buildings website, you agree to the following:
The CleanBC Better Buildings website and Energy Coach is administered and delivered by Summerhill Group Inc. (“Summerhill”), and funded by the Province of British Columbia (the “Province”). FortisBC Inc., FortisBC Energy Inc., BC Hydro and Power Authority (together with the Province, and Summerhill, the “Program Entities”) do not fund or administer this initiative, however they are supportive and of the purpose of the Energy Coach program and the CleanBC Better Buildings website and may provide promotion through marketing and outreach channels.
Privacy
Summerhill on behalf of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (the “Ministry”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information for the purposes of delivering and evaluating the Energy Coach service in accordance with the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA). If you have questions regarding your personal information, contact Summerhill’s Privacy Officer at ask@betterbuildingsbc.ca, 1-844-881-9790 or 806 Pacific Street, Vancouver, BC, V6Z 1C2.
You can choose to send Summerhill or the Ministry information about yourself, including your name, address, phone number, and other information about your home or building upgrades, including your EnerGuide Rating System file number, so that Summerhill and the Ministry can provide the Energy Coach service to you. That information can be provided through the online web form, email or the hotline. That information will be stored for a period of two years after your first inquiry with the Energy Coach.
You will be contacted by Summerhill or the Ministry by phone, email, direct mail or similar method for the purposes of administering, evaluating and researching all elements of Energy Coach anytime up to two years after your first inquiry with Energy Coach. You can opt out of receiving communications anytime by contacting Summerhill or the Ministry and requesting to be unsubscribed.
When you use the website, Summerhill and the Ministry will collect anonymous information using website analytics and other tracking tools about how visitors use the CleanBC Better Buildings website in order to continually improve the website experience.
Limits of Liability
You are solely responsible for choosing products, services and contractors and understanding and applying for incentive programs, and for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws when completing energy efficiency upgrades.
The information provided by the CleanBC Better Buildings website and Energy Coach is general energy efficiency information and it is not a substitute for an EnerGuide home evaluation, professional advice, or quotes from licenced contractors. Prior to undertaking energy efficiency upgrades, you should confirm the information provided through the CleanBC Better Buildings website or from the Energy Coach with professionals who will provide you with recommendations and advice specific to your home and home improvement needs.
The Program Entities do not make any representation or warranty about the accuracy, reliability, currency or completeness of any information or material contained on the CleanBC Better Buildings website or on any linked site or provided through the Energy Coach.
